The Companion Guide to Paris
Published in Paperback by Hungry Minds, Inc (December, 1991)
Author: Anthony Glyn
Average review score:

Best insiders glimpse of Paris!
I stumbled upon this gem when buying 6 Paris guidebooks to Paris for [a.] a long flight, and [b.] a week of business in France. This Anthony Glyn publication significantly out-did the others. It was insightful, and USEFUL, and, best of all, quite humorous. I liked so much, I bought one dozen as Christmas presents for co-workers with future stints in Paris. I recommend to one, and all -- those visiting briefly as well as those with longer stays.

I intend to buy Mr. Glyn's Rome Companion, and hope he expands his work to other cities in the near future.

Company Man: The Rise and Fall of Corporate Life
Published in Hardcover by Times Books (October, 1995)
Authors: Anthony Sampson and John Mahaney
Average review score:

Excellent history of corporate culture
What would we do without Anthony Sampson! Here is another Sampson book that carefully analyses an important part of western business culture to show us what it's really all about. Sampson always impresses with his grasp of the issues, but what I like most is his humanity. He is keen to show exactly what the changing business culture has done to the people in it, and who the winners and losers are. Sampson is not just another corporate booster, and combines the rigour of an academic with the narrative skills of a professional writer. All in all, this is a balanced book and a good read from one of our most insightful writers on business issues.

Compete: A Dynamic Marketing Simulation
Published in Paperback by McGraw-Hill/Irwin (January, 1994)
Authors: Anthony J. Faria and D. S. Rousos
Average review score:

Competition
I really enjoyed playing Compete. It gave my group and me to compete with other groups. We had to analyze financial statements and observe graphs. We'd enter prices and the number of units to be sold in each region etc. We had to be careful about everything we did. One mistake could ruin everything. It was very exciting and interesting. I'd definitely recommend it.

The Complete Golfer
Published in Hardcover by Lorenz Books (June, 2003)
Authors: Steve Newell, Anthony Atha, and Paul Foston
Average review score:

The Complete Golfer
I've read much of Steve Newell's work in Golf World Magazine in the UK and have always rated him highly. He may not be a big name player or teacher but he clearly has the ability to write instructional editorial that's both enlightening and entertaining. There's nothing new in this instructional book, but it's set out well, easy to follow and as useful as any I've read.

Complete Sonatas of Sor, Giulani, & Diabelli
Published in Library Binding by Mel Bay Publications (25 October, 2000)
Author: Anthony Glise
Average review score:

A MONUMENT IN THE FIELD
I had the chance to meet Glise personally after one of his concerts in Paris (he lives not far from here, in N. France). A BRILLIANT person, kind, open, honest and unbelievably knowledgable in his field.
This collection of the sonatas is a result of 20+ years of research, performance and recording experience. It has become the "final word" on performance practice for the 19th century on the guitar. Note that the preface (of over 100 pages!!!???) is written in English, French, German AND Italian - just another testament to Glise's genius. More details are available at: www.AnthonyGlise.com.

Computers in the Schools: A Guide to Planning and Administration
Published in Hardcover by Merrill Pub Co (September, 1993)
Author: Anthony G. Picciano
Average review score:

Excellent book about educational technology
This is a great book for anyone interested in educational technology. The author provides a historical look at how computers have been used in schools. Although, the book was written for administrators, it is a good read and valuable resource for researchers, teachers, parents and students. Unfortunately, the book is outdated as it was published in 1994. It is also out of print.

A Concise Encyclopedia of the Philosophy of Religion
Published in Paperback by Oneworld Publications Ltd (November, 2002)
Author: Anthony C. Thiselton
Average review score:

Helpful, timely resource for students and teachers
Anthony Thiselton is a well known name in evangelical circles for his extensive work in contemporary hermeneutics and exegesis through titles such as "New Horizons in Hermeneutics" (1992), "Two Horizons" (1980), and the more recent "The First Epistle to the Corinthians" (2000; New International Greek Testament Commentary Series). Thiselton's most recent work is a compendium of his insights into major figures and trends within contemporary hermeneutical, theological and philosophical thought. And students of these contemporary issues will not be disappointed with the timeliness and depth of the topics covered.

"A Concise Encyclopedia of the Philosophy of Religion" is precisely that; an encyclopedia containing over 300 entries and sub-entries relevant to any informed discussion of philosophy of religion. In addition to the classic figures generally present in such discussions, Thiselton brings to the table all those others who are just as relevant and crucial to contemporary discussions. Although it is more than tempting to list all the names covered by Thiselton, I will list only a few I was quick to look up: Austin, Ayer, Barthes, Bergson, Chisholm, Derrida, Hartshorne, Henry, Husserl, Levinas, Malcolm, Plantinga, Quine, Swinburne, Whitehead, and Wolterstorff.

All of Thiselton's articles are cross-referenced to allow you to find other topics related to your inquiry within the encyclopedia. He also intentionally explains "virtually every unfamiliar technical term, and will introduce unfamiliar thinkers". This is an excellent resource for students and laymen. I have used this frequently while writing papers or to gain refreshed insight into the thought of a particular figure mentioned in my other readings.

This book can be recommended for students of theology and philosophy, and will be of particular interest to those pursuing contemporary theology, hermeneutics, postmodern theology, historical theology, and philosophy of religion. The book's intent is to provide a contemporary, up-to-date textbook for university level students in these fields. Thus it may prove helpful to teachers striving to expose their students to these same issues.

Conquest of the South Pole and Man to Man (Royal Court Writers)
Published in Paperback by Heinemann (March, 1989)
Authors: Manfred Karge, Anthony Vivis, and Tinch Minter
Average review score:
